History of the Florence Nightingale Group
As a curiosity, the group is named after the renowned English nurse Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), a pioneer of modern nursing in hospitals.
Florence Nightingale became known for her contribution in helping wounded soldiers during the Crimean War. Despite having very poor hygiene and working conditions, Nightingale promoted improvements in organization, hygiene and care as basic today, such as hand washing and other hygiene-related practices. His work and that of his nurses dramatically reduced death rates in soldiers.
At present, the Florence Nightingale Group strives for continuous improvement and to meet the standards of patient care established by a reference in the healthcare field such as the Nightingale.
All this is achieved with 24-hour quality care in its highly qualified multidisciplinary services including Emergency, Gynecology, Obstetrics and High-Risk Pregnancies, Health and Childhood Diseases, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics and Traumatology, among others.
